Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Adidas Samba OG Trainers feature a traditional lace closure.
- Unpack: Remove shoes from packaging.
- Lace Up: Thread laces through eyelets, ensuring they are even.
- Adjust Fit: Tighten laces for a secure, comfortable fit. Avoid over-tightening which can restrict circulation.
- Break-in: Like many leather shoes, a short break-in period may be necessary to conform to your foot shape for optimal comfort. Wear them for shorter periods initially.
Compatibility
- Outfit Versatility: These trainers are highly versatile. They pair well with casual wear such as jeans, shorts, and t-shirts, but can also complement smart-casual attire like chinos, skirts, or light dresses for a relaxed yet polished look.
- Footwear Accessories: Best worn with athletic or casual socks for comfort and moisture wicking.
- Seasonal Use: Suitable for dry to moderately damp conditions. Not recommended for heavy rain or snow due to the leather/suede material.
Care Instructions
Proper care will significantly extend the life and maintain the appearance of your Samba OG Trainers.
- Regular Cleaning:
- Leather Upper: Gently wipe dirt and dust with a soft, damp cloth. For tougher spots, use a specialized leather cleaner applied sparingly according to product instructions.
- Suede Areas: Use a suede brush to remove loose dirt and restore the nap. For stains, a suede eraser can be effective. Avoid excessive rubbing.
- Rubber Outsole: Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove grime.
- Conditioning (Leather): Apply a high-quality leather conditioner periodically to keep the leather soft, supple, and prevent cracking. Follow the conditioner's instructions. *Do not apply leather conditioner to suede parts.*
- Protection: Apply a water and stain repellent spray specifically designed for leather and suede before first wear and periodically thereafter, especially if you anticipate exposure to moisture. Test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Drying: If shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Air dry them at room temperature, away from direct heat sources or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash these trainers, as it can severely damage the leather, suede, and adhesives.
