Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your AirPods Pro is remarkably simple, especially within the Apple ecosystem:
- Ensure your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) is unlocked and its Bluetooth is on.
- Open the lid of your AirPods Pro charging case with the AirPods inside, and hold it close to your device.
- A setup animation will appear on your device's screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect.
- Once paired, your AirPods Pro will automatically connect to all devices signed into the same iCloud account.
Compatibility
- Optimized for Apple Devices: Fully compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV running the latest software versions.
- Limited Android/Other Device Compatibility: AirPods Pro can connect to any Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., Android phones, Windows PCs) as standard Bluetooth headphones. However, advanced features like Spatial Audio, seamless device switching, Siri integration, and automatic ear detection may not be available or fully functional.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean your AirPods Pro and charging case with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Ear Tips: Remove the silicone ear tips and rinse them with water if needed. Allow them to dry completely before reattaching.
- Sweat and Water Resistance: AirPods Pro are sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise, and are rated IPX4. This means they are not waterproof and should not be submerged in water. Avoid exposing them to pressurized water, soap, or detergents. Dry them thoroughly if they get wet from sweat or rain.
- Storage: Store your AirPods Pro in their charging case when not in use to protect them and keep them charged.
