Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully unroll your Origins Buddy Rug. It may arrive tightly rolled, so allow it some time to relax.
- Flatten: If edges or corners curl slightly, reverse roll them gently or place heavy objects on them overnight to help the rug lie flat. The non-slip rubber backing will typically help it settle quickly.
- Placement: Position the rug on a clean, dry floor. Ensure no moisture is trapped underneath to maintain the effectiveness of the non-slip backing.
Compatibility
This versatile rug is suitable for almost any room in your home, including:
- Living Rooms: Adds comfort and defines seating areas.
- Dining Rooms: Its stain resistance makes it ideal for spills.
- Hallways & Entrances: Withstands high traffic and provides a welcoming touch.
- Bedrooms: Offers softness underfoot and warmth.
- Children's Rooms/Play Areas: Durable, washable, and resistant to common messes.
- Kitchens: Great for absorbing spills and providing comfort while standing, thanks to its washability.
The rug is generally compatible with underfloor heating systems due to its polypropylene composition and rubber backing.
Care Instructions
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly with a standard vacuum cleaner to remove loose dirt and maintain the 10mm pile's loft. Avoid using a beater bar on high pile settings, which can damage fibers.
- Spot Cleaning: For immediate spills, blot gently with a clean, dry cloth. For tougher spots, use a mild detergent solution and blot, do not rub.
- Machine Washing: For a deeper clean, machine wash the rug at 40°C. Use a mild detergent. Do not bleach. For larger rugs, ensure your washing machine can accommodate the size and weight when wet. If unsure, professional cleaning is an option.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low setting or lay flat to air dry. Ensure the rug is completely dry before placing it back on the floor to prevent moisture buildup underneath.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong chemical cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the rug's fibers and backing.
