Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Select the appropriate cable tie size (length and width) for the bundle you need to secure. Ensure the length is sufficient to loop around the bundle with a small overlap for fastening.
- Thread the pointed end of the tie through the locking head.
- Pull the tie taut around the bundle. The internal ratchet mechanism will engage, securing the tie.
- Trim any excess length with cutters, ensuring the cut end is smooth to avoid injury or damage to surrounding items.
Compatibility:
These cable ties are compatible with a wide range of materials including plastic, rubber, metal, and fabric. Their dielectric strength makes them suitable for use around electrical wiring. Ensure the operating temperature of the environment is within the material's limits (typically -40°C to 85°C for polyamide 6/6, though check specific product data for exact ranges).
Care:
- Store cable ties in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain material integrity.
- Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth if they become dusty. Avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- For best results, use ties within their intended application; do not use them for structural support or in applications exceeding their tensile strength.
