Setup
Getting your Sonos Five ready is a straightforward process:
- Unpack: Remove the speaker from its packaging and place it in your desired listening location.
- Power On: Plug the power cord into the Sonos Five and then into a wall outlet.
- Download App: Download the Sonos app on your smartphone or tablet from your device's app store.
- Connect: Open the Sonos app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Sonos Five to your home Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through adding the speaker to your system.
- Trueplay Tuning (Optional but Recommended): Use the Trueplay feature in the Sonos app to fine-tune the speaker's sound for your specific room acoustics.
Compatibility
- Streaming Services: The Sonos Five is compatible with virtually all major music streaming services that integrate with the Sonos platform.
- Apple AirPlay 2: Stream audio directly from any Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Mac) running iOS 11.4 or later.
- Line-In Port: Connects to any device with a 3.5mm audio output, such as turntables (with a built-in pre-amp or external pre-amp), CD players, or portable audio players.
- Sonos Ecosystem: Fully compatible with other Sonos speakers for multi-room audio and stereo pairing.
Care
- Cleaning: To clean your Sonos Five, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, cleaning sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.
- Placement: Ensure the speaker is placed on a stable surface. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in excessively humid environments to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
