Raw denim is fabric that has not been washed or distressed during production. This allows the wearer to create their own natural fade patterns over time.
As with most 100% cotton garments, some minimal shrinkage may occur if washed in hot water. Always use cold water and air dry to maintain the original fit.
These pants pair best with fitted or boxy-cut t-shirts and hoodies. The wide leg is perfect for showcasing footwear like boots or high-top sneakers.
To preserve the raw denim quality, wash only when necessary, typically every 6 to 12 months of regular wear, or use a fabric refresh spray between washes.
Kaihara is a world-renowned Japanese denim mill known for producing some of the highest-quality selvage denim in the world.
This is a characteristic of raw selvage denim. Wear the pants consistently for a few weeks, and the cotton fibers will naturally loosen and soften to your frame.
This is common with raw, unwashed denim. Avoid wearing light-colored items with these pants until they have been broken in, or consider a quick cold-water soak to remove excess surface dye.
To maximize the life of your Edwin Wide Pants, avoid frequent machine washing. When cleaning is necessary, turn the pants inside out and use a cold-water gentle cycle with mild detergent, then hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Because this is raw indigo denim, be mindful of color transfer—avoid sitting on light-colored furniture or wearing with white footwear until the garment has been worn and washed a few times to set the dye. For sizing, choose your standard waist size, but expect a slight break-in period as the heavy cotton fabric molds to your body.
