Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Getting your child ready for adventure with their Hunter Kids First Wellingtons is straightforward.
Setup:
Simply help your child slide their feet into the wellingtons. The integrated easy pull-on handles are designed for little hands to grasp, making the process intuitive and promoting self-dressing skills. Ensure socks are comfortable and not bunched up inside the boot.
Compatibility:
These wellingtons are designed to be worn with standard children's clothing. For optimal comfort and warmth, particularly in cooler weather, we recommend pairing them with quality socks. Wool or thermal socks are excellent choices to provide insulation as the wellingtons themselves are not insulated.
Care:
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of the wellingtons:
- Cleaning: After use, especially if muddy, wipe the boots clean with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap and water solution can be used. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive scrubbers.
- Drying: Always allow the boots to air dry completely at room temperature. Do not place them on direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the natural rubber to crack or fade.
- Storage: Store the wellingtons upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Avoid folding or creasing the rubber.
- Bloom: Occasionally, you may notice a white powdery film on the rubber surface. This is a characteristic of high-quality natural rubber and is known as 'blooming'. It's not a defect and can be wiped off with a damp cloth or a specialized rubber boot buffer spray.
