Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper care is essential to extending the life of your Barbour jacket. Never dry clean or machine wash your jacket, as this will strip away the protective wax finish. To clean the outer fabric, use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt or mud. When the jacket begins to lose its water-repellency—typically noticed when water no longer beads on the surface—apply a Barbour re-waxing cream according to the manufacturer's instructions. Always hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a cool, well-ventilated area to dry if it becomes soaked. Avoid storing it in plastic bags, as this can encourage mold growth and ruin the waxed cotton.
