Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Birkenstocks last, proper care is essential. When you first receive your pair, ensure the straps are adjusted so that the sandal sits securely on your foot without slipping. Do not force the sandals to bend; they will soften naturally with body heat and movement. For cleaning, wipe the uppers with a dry cloth and use a specialist cork sealer if the sides of the footbed begin to look dry or dull. Keep the sandals away from extreme heat sources, such as direct sunlight in a hot car or radiators, as this can cause the cork to crack or the glue to degrade.
