The Korsteel Copper Roller Full Cheek Snaffle features a mouthpiece made of stainless steel and copper rollers, designed to prevent horses from 'grabbing' the mouthpiece. The copper rollers promote increased salivation, leading to a softer mouth compared to conventional single-metal bits. This snaffle primarily acts on the horse's tongue, palate, and bars. The single joint creates a nutcracker action that applies pressure to the tongue, potentially encouraging the horse to lift its head. The full cheeks are incorporated to enhance steering capabilities. However, this bit is not recommended for young or novice horses as it does not foster the development of taking a contact. It is a favored choice for horses that tend to be strong or heavy in the hand and is commonly used by eventers and showjumpers.
