Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Phantom Luna 2 Academy TF boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Loosen the laces completely upon first wear. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated at the back of the boot.
- Adjust Fit: Start tightening the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit. Focus on a secure fit around the midfoot and ankle.
- Break-in Period: Leather uppers often require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few short sessions (e.g., warm-ups, light training) before a full match to allow the leather to mold to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for:
- Artificial Turf (TF) Surfaces: This includes 3G, 4G, and older generation astro-turf pitches. The rubber outsole provides the necessary grip and reduces stud pressure.
Do NOT use on:
- Natural Grass (Firm Ground, Soft Ground)
- Indoor Courts (Futsal)
- Hard Street Surfaces
Using them on incorrect surfaces can damage the boots and increase the risk of injury.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your leather boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: Remove loose dirt and mud immediately after play using a soft brush or damp cloth. For tougher dirt, a mild soap solution can be used.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as extreme heat can damage the leather and adhesives.
- Conditioning (Leather): Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent cracking. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees or stuffing with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not soak the boots in water, as this can damage the leather and impact structural integrity.
