Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
There is no complex setup required for these trainers. Simply open the hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps, slide your toddler's foot in, and secure the straps comfortably. Ensure there's a little wiggle room for their toes but that the heel is secure.
Compatibility
These trainers are designed as a unisex option, compatible with a wide range of toddler clothing styles, from casual playwear to slightly dressier outfits. They are specifically sized for toddler feet.
Care
To keep your Vans Old Skool V Toddler Checkered trainers looking their best and prolong their life:
- Spot Cleaning: For minor dirt and scuffs, use a damp cloth with a mild soap (like dish soap) and gently rub the affected area. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Deep Cleaning: For more stubborn dirt, especially on the canvas sections, use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) with soapy water. Scrub gently in small circular motions.
- Sole Cleaning: Use a brush or sponge with soap and water to clean the white rubber soles.
- Drying: Always air dry the shoes away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not put them in a washing machine or dryer, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Avoid Bleach: Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the color and material.
- Regular Maintenance: Wipe down the shoes regularly to prevent dirt buildup, particularly on the checkered pattern.
