This blackout roller blind offers the ideal solution for blocking unwanted light and reducing external noise, making it perfect for bedrooms or media rooms. FAQs

Does this blind provide complete darkness?

Yes, the fabric features a blackout coating designed to block out the vast majority of direct light.

Can the blind be trimmed to size?

It is not recommended to trim the fabric yourself as it may damage the blackout coating and the decorative diamante finish.

Is the child safety device mandatory to install?

Yes, for safety compliance, the provided child safety device must be installed correctly to secure the cord and prevent strangulation risks.

Can this be installed in a bathroom?

While the material is durable, we recommend ensuring the area is well-ventilated to prevent moisture buildup on the fabric.

What is the purpose of the diamante strip?

The diamante strip is primarily a decorative aesthetic element intended to provide a glamorous, light-reflecting accent to the blind.

Troubleshooting

The blind hangs unevenly or 'telescopes' to one side.

Check that the mounting brackets are perfectly level and that the fabric is attached squarely to the roller tube.

The roller mechanism feels stiff when pulling the cord.

Ensure no debris is trapped in the side-winding gear and check that the mounting brackets are not squeezed too tightly against the ends of the tube.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-quality blackout performance
  • Sophisticated aesthetic with diamante detailing
  • Easy installation with all hardware included
  • Effective at reducing unwanted outdoor noise
  • Modern chrome hardware accents

Cons

  • Diamante pattern may not suit minimalist decors
  • Requires precise measurement for accurate sizing
  • Available in limited colour options

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation of the Rackhams roller blind is designed for the average DIY enthusiast. Ensure you measure the internal or external recess of your window frame accurately before drilling. Use a spirit level to ensure the bracket mounting is perfectly horizontal, as an uneven mount will cause the blind to roll crookedly.

Compatibility: This product is designed for standard window frames. Ensure there is enough clearance above the window frame to account for the roller mechanism.

Care Instructions: To maintain the finish of the diamante strip and the blackout fabric, lightly dust with a soft, dry cloth. If deep cleaning is required, use a barely damp cloth with a mild soap solution and wipe gently, avoiding abrasive scrubbers that could damage the diamante detailing.
