Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Determine the mounting positions for the hasp and staple on your door/gate and frame.
- Ensure there is adequate clearance for the hasp to swivel and lock.
- Mark the screw hole locations.
- Drill pilot holes appropriate for your chosen fixings (not included).
- Securely attach the hasp, staple, and retaining bracket using appropriate screws or bolts for the material being secured (wood, metal, etc.).
- Test the swivel mechanism and ensure a padlock can be fitted through the designated holes.
Compatibility:
This hasp and staple is designed for use on most types of external and internal gates and doors, including:
- Barn doors
- Field gates
- Stables
- Sheds
- Storage units
- Side gates
Care:
To maintain the longevity and performance of the galvanised finish:
- Periodically check for any signs of damage or wear.
- Clean with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the galvanised coating.
- For heavily exposed areas, a light application of oil to the swivel joint can help prevent stiffness over time.
