The Craghoppers Ponsa Waterproof Jacket is an ideal choice for active adult hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who need a reliable, lightweight shell that balances weather protection with movement. Featuring a streamlined, stretchy design, it excels in challenging, changeable trail conditions; however, its minimalist approach means it lacks the heavy-duty insulation of winter-specific mountaineering jackets.

Yes, the AquaDry membrane provides excellent wind protection to keep you comfortable in gusty conditions.
While it is waterproof, it is a shell jacket and does not have built-in insulation. It is best for hiking; if using for winter sports, you would need to add significant thermal layers underneath.
Use a specialized technical gear wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
No, it features a pared-back, streamlined design intended to minimize bulk for easier packing.
This model follows standard adult sizing. Refer to the specific size guide to ensure a comfortable fit for layering.
The jacket is constructed from high-performance polyester with mechanical stretch properties.
The DWR finish has likely worn off. Wash the jacket and re-apply a DWR waterproofing treatment spray according to the product directions.
Ensure your layering system is also breathable. Avoid cotton base layers, which hold moisture, and open vents if the jacket design allows for better airflow.
To ensure the longevity of your jacket, always follow the care label instructions. Generally, you should wash the garment on a gentle cycle with a technical detergent designed for waterproof gear, avoiding harsh fabric softeners that can clog the pores of the membrane. After washing, low-heat tumble drying or air drying is recommended to maintain the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. If water stops beading on the surface over time, you can re-apply a DWR spray to restore its performance.
