The Rab Electron Pro Down Jacket is designed for adult males seeking a versatile, warm, and durable outerwear option for winter activities like hiking, climbing, and belaying. Its key benefit lies in providing a balanced mix of lightness and reliable warmth, powered by high-fill-power down and weather-resistant fabric. A potential caveat is its regular fit, which may not suit those preferring a very slim or oversized silhouette.

The Electron Pro Down Jacket is designed for cold conditions, offering a good balance of warmth and weight. For extreme cold or prolonged exposure, layering with additional insulating pieces may be necessary.
Water should bead up and roll off the fabric. If water starts to soak into the fabric instead of beading, it's time to reapply the DWR treatment.
A front-loading washing machine is recommended to prevent damage to the down. If using a top-loading machine, ensure the agitator is not present or use a mesh bag for the jacket to protect it.
FP stands for Fill Power, which is a measure of the down's loft and insulating ability. 800FP is considered very high quality, meaning a given volume of down will occupy a large space, providing excellent warmth for its weight.
Wash only when necessary, typically when the jacket is visibly dirty or has lost loft and insulation. Over-washing can degrade the down and DWR treatment.
The hood is designed to be helmet-compatible and features drawcords for adjustment, allowing for a secure fit over most standard climbing or ski helmets.
Ensure the jacket is completely dry. Continue tumble drying on low heat with tennis balls to help break up clumps and restore loft. If still clumpy, it may indicate insufficient rinsing or inadequate drying.
The DWR finish may have worn off. Reapply a suitable DWR treatment after washing and drying according to product instructions. Ensure the jacket is clean before applying new DWR.
Clean the zipper teeth gently with a brush. Apply a small amount of graphite (from a pencil lead) or a specialized zipper lubricant to the teeth. Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper.
Check for any damage to the outer fabric or seams that might be allowing heat to escape. Ensure the down is evenly distributed; if not, try the drying method described above to restore loft. If down has been compromised, professional reproofing or repair might be needed.
Setup:
This jacket requires no setup beyond wearing it. Ensure all zippers are fully closed before engaging in activities. Adjust the hem drawcord and cuffs for a snug fit to prevent drafts.
