Troubleshooting
Door is difficult to close or sticks.
Check if the door has warped due to humidity. Ensure it has been properly sealed on all sides. Minor sticking can sometimes be resolved by light sanding on the affected edge, followed by re-finishing. Ensure hinges are correctly aligned and the frame is square.
Uneven finish after applying stain/paint.
Ensure the door surface was clean and smooth before application. Apply finishes in thin, even coats, following the manufacturer's instructions. If the issue persists, sanding back and reapplying may be necessary.
Lippings are trimmed too much.
It is not possible to re-add lipping material. Ensure accurate measurements before trimming. If a significant amount has been trimmed, consider if a different door size might be more appropriate for future installations.
