Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started (Setup)
Upon receiving your Nike Pegasus Trail 5, try them on with your preferred running socks. Ensure there's about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Walk around and jog lightly to assess the fit and feel. The integrated lacing system allows for precise adjustments to hug your midfoot securely.
Compatibility
- Socks: Best paired with moisture-wicking athletic socks designed for running to prevent blisters and manage sweat.
- Terrain: Compatible with a wide range of non-technical trail surfaces, from fire roads to singletrack with moderate obstacles.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Pegasus Trail 5, follow these care instructions:
- Cleaning: After muddy runs, remove excess dirt by gently tapping the soles together. Use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) and mild soap with cold water to clean the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Do *not* put them in a dryer or expose them to direct heat, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider stuffing them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating between two pairs of trail shoes to allow each pair to fully dry out and extend their lifespan.
