Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare Your Walls: Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from any old wallpaper or loose paint. Fill any cracks or holes and prime porous surfaces.
- Gather Tools: You will need wallpaper paste, a pasting brush or roller, a plumb line, a spirit level, a measuring tape, scissors, a wallpaper smoothing brush, a cutting knife, and a clean sponge.
- Measure and Cut: Measure your wall height and add a few extra centimeters for trimming at the top and bottom. Account for the 64cm offset design repeat when cutting subsequent strips to ensure the pattern aligns correctly.
- Paste the Paper: Apply a quality wallpaper paste evenly to the back of the wallpaper strip. Fold the pasted strip (paste to paste) for a few minutes to allow the paper to relax.
- Hang the First Strip: Use a plumb line to ensure your first strip is perfectly vertical. Carefully position and smooth the wallpaper onto the wall, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Match Subsequent Strips: Align the next strip by matching the offset design at the seams. Smooth into place, ensuring no gaps or overlaps.
- Trim and Clean: Once all strips are hung, carefully trim excess paper at the top and bottom using a sharp knife. Gently wipe any excess paste from the surface and seams with a damp sponge.
Compatibility
This wallpaper is highly versatile and compatible with various living spaces, including:
- Bedrooms: Adds a calm, modern, and sophisticated atmosphere.
- Living Rooms: Creates a stylish feature wall or an encompassing industrial aesthetic.
- Hallways and Entryways: Provides an inviting and contemporary first impression.
Its grey colour family and industrial texture design blend well with minimalist, modern, and industrial interior styles.
Care
- Wipeable: The Muriva Cove Wallpaper is wipeable. For light dirt or dust, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing, as this may damage the metallic accents or texture. For stubborn marks, a very mild, diluted detergent can be used sparingly, followed by a clean damp cloth.
