The Rycote Portable Recorder Audio Kit is designed to significantly reduce wind noise and isolate handheld digital recorders from handling or stand vibrations, enabling clearer, professional-quality audio capture outdoors.

This specific model is designed for the Zoom H2n Portable Recorder. However, its universal adaptor may allow it to fit other recorders with a 1/4"" female thread.

The adaptor allows the suspension to be mounted on a 3/8"" male thread (like on a mic stand or boom pole) and features a 180° swivel for easy and precise aiming of the recorder.

While primarily designed for outdoor use against wind, the suspension system also effectively isolates the recorder from handling noise and vibrations indoors, which can be beneficial in noisy environments or when movement is involved.

For light dust, use a lint roller or a soft brush. For more thorough cleaning, use a soft brush with mild soap and water, then allow the fur to air dry completely before use.

The kit can be mounted on any standard 3/8"" male thread (e.g., microphone stands, boom poles) or attached to a camera's hot shoe mount.

The kit does not inherently improve the recorder's microphone quality. Instead, it improves sound quality by preventing external factors like wind and vibrations from degrading the audio captured by the recorder's existing microphones.
