Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the laces thoroughly before putting the boots on to ensure an even fit. Once your foot is in, tighten the laces from bottom to top, ensuring a snug but comfortable feel. Double-knot for security.
- Tongue Adjustment: Position the foldover tongue comfortably over the laces. You can use the elastic strap (if present) to secure it, or remove the tongue entirely if you prefer a different look or feel.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This means they are ideal for natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or require deeper stud penetration. They are not recommended for firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs and compromise performance and safety.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose mud and dirt with a soft brush or damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a mild leather cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the leather to crack or shrink. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Conditioning: Regularly apply a high-quality leather conditioner to keep the cow leather supple and prevent drying or cracking. This will extend the lifespan of your boots.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and damage.
