Product Information

Full details

The Original BTC Hector Dome Wall Light is designed for homeowners and interior designers seeking a blend of classic British industrial style and adaptable functionality. Its key benefit is the adjustable, translucent bone china shade that allows for precise light direction, creating either ambient or focused illumination. A potential caveat is the need to confirm bulb type (E14 for small, E27 for medium) for optimal compatibility. This versatile wall light features an adjustable stem and shade, a sophisticated cotton braided cable, and is crafted using traditional ceramic techniques.

FAQs

What type of bulb does the medium Hector Dome Wall Light use?

The medium Hector Dome Wall Light uses an E27 bulb. Please ensure it is compatible with dimmable switches if you intend to use the dimming feature.

Do I need an electrician to install this light?

The plug & cable version is designed for easy plug-in installation. For the switched and unswitched versions, professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

Can I use any type of bulb?

You need to use the correct base type (E27 for medium). For dimming, the bulb must be explicitly labeled as dimmable. Check the product specifications for maximum wattage.

How do I clean the bone china shade?

Gently wipe the shade with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the ceramic finish.

What is the length of the fabric cable on the plug & cable version?

The plug & cable version comes with a 1.5-meter decorative fabric cable.

Is this light suitable for bathrooms?

This light is generally designed for indoor living spaces. It is not rated for bathroom zones where specific IP ratings are required for moisture resistance.

Where is the Hector Dome Wall Light manufactured?

The ceramic shades are handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom, using traditional methods.

Troubleshooting

Light does not turn on

Ensure the plug is securely inserted into the socket (for plug & cable version). Check the light bulb is correctly fitted and not burnt out. Verify power to the circuit or socket. For wired versions, check the switch and wiring connection.

Flickering light

Try a different compatible bulb. If using a dimmer, ensure the bulb is dimmable and check the dimmer compatibility. Loose wiring connections could also be a cause; consult an electrician.

Shade is loose or won't stay in position

Gently tighten the adjustment mechanism on the stem. Avoid overtightening, which could damage the components. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
