Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Compatibility
Upon first wearing your Sherbourne Boots, ensure they feel comfortable. While no significant 'break-in' period is typically required due to the synthetic materials and comfortable insock, wearing them for shorter periods initially can help your feet adjust. These boots are designed for *adult females* and are ideal for casual walks, daily commutes, and general outdoor use in mild to cold, wet conditions.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the synthetic leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and mud. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap solution and rinse with a clean, damp cloth. Allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Faux Fur Lining: To keep the faux fur soft and fluffy, gently brush it with a soft-bristled brush when dry. If it becomes matted, you can carefully use a slightly damp cloth to spot clean and then brush.
- Waterproofing: The Isotex membrane provides built-in waterproofing. To maintain this, avoid harsh cleaning agents that could damage the membrane. While not typically needed for new boots, over time, a compatible fabric protector spray for waterproof breathable materials can be applied if you notice water repellency decreasing.
- Drying: If your boots become thoroughly wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Avoid placing them near direct heat sources like radiators, as this can damage materials.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to prevent material degradation.
