The HP E27m G4 features a 27-inch HD LCD display.

Is the webcam built into the monitor?

Yes, it features an integrated, tilt-adjustable 5-megapixel webcam.

Can this monitor charge my laptop?

Yes, it can deliver up to 65W of power to compatible laptops via the USB-C connection.

Do I need separate speakers and a microphone for video calls?

No, the monitor has integrated front-firing speakers and dual microphones for a complete conferencing solution.

What does 'Zoom Certified' mean?

Being 'Zoom Certified' means the monitor has been tested and optimized to provide a seamless and high-quality experience specifically with Zoom conferencing software.

Does it work with any laptop?

For full functionality, including video, data, and power delivery over a single cable, your laptop needs a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery.

How do I adjust the webcam's angle?

The integrated webcam is tilt-adjustable, allowing you to manually set the optimal viewing angle for your video calls.

Troubleshooting

Webcam or microphones are not working during a call.

Check your operating system's privacy settings to ensure the conferencing application has permission to access the camera and microphone. Verify that the USB-C cable is fully connected and that the HP E27m G4 is selected as the video and audio input device within your conferencing software's settings.

Laptop is not charging via USB-C cable.

Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery. Check that the USB-C cable is securely connected at both ends. Some power-intensive laptops may require their original power adapter if 65W is insufficient, especially under heavy load.

No display on the monitor, or 'No Signal' message.

Confirm the power cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the wall outlet, and the monitor is powered on. Ensure the USB-C cable is firmly connected to both the monitor and your laptop. Try restarting your laptop. If using a different video input (Info needed: if available), ensure the correct input source is selected on the monitor.

Audio is coming from laptop speakers instead of monitor speakers.

Open your computer's sound settings and select 'HP E27m G4' or similar as the default audio output device. Also, check the audio settings within your conferencing application to ensure the monitor's speakers are chosen.

Image on screen appears blurry or distorted.

Ensure your computer's display resolution is set to the monitor's native HD resolution. You can usually find this in your operating system's display settings. Also, check the USB-C cable for any damage or kinks.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Integrated webcam, speakers, and mics reduce desktop clutter and simplify setup.
  • Single USB-C cable handles video, data, and up to 65W laptop charging.
  • Zoom Certified for reliable and high-quality virtual meeting experiences.
  • 27-inch HD display provides a large and clear viewing area.
  • Tilt-adjustable webcam allows for optimal camera angles during calls.

Cons

  • Energy efficiency class F indicates higher power consumption compared to more efficient models.
  • Full single-cable functionality (data, video, charging) requires a USB-C compatible laptop with power delivery support.
  • While HD, the display resolution might not be sufficient for users accustomed to QHD or 4K on a 27-inch screen.
  • Only 65W power delivery may not be enough for some high-performance laptops during heavy use.

Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the monitor and its components from the packaging.
  2. Assemble Stand: Attach the monitor stand to the display panel according to the instructions in the quick setup guide. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the monitor and then into a wall outlet.
  4. Connect to Device: For full functionality, connect your laptop or PC to the monitor using a USB-C cable (ensure your device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery for video, data, and charging). If your device lacks USB-C, you may need additional adapters for video (e.g., HDMI or DisplayPort) and will not receive power delivery or integrated webcam/mic functionality via video cable alone. Info needed: other port types if available.
  5. Power On: Press the power button on the monitor and your connected device.
  6. Initial Configuration: Your operating system should automatically detect the monitor. You may need to adjust display settings (resolution, scaling) and select the HP E27m G4 as your audio input/output device in your system's sound settings or conferencing application.

Compatibility

  • Laptops/PCs: Best compatibility with devices featuring a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery for single-cable solutions.
  • Operating Systems: Compatible with major operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) that support external monitors and USB-C connectivity.
  • Conferencing Software: "Zoom Certified" ensures optimized performance with Zoom. It is also compatible with other popular conferencing platforms.

Care

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth designed for electronics. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-cleaning solution (apply solution to the cloth, not directly to the screen).
  • Cleaning the Casing: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the monitor's exterior. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the monitor's vents are not obstructed to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the monitor in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging.
