FAQs

What does ME+ Technology do?

ME+ Technology is an ingredient in specific Koleston Perfect shades that reduces the risk of developing a new allergy to hair colorants. However, it does not eliminate the risk of allergic reactions entirely.

Do I need to do an allergy test every time?

Yes, it is crucial to perform an allergy alert test 48 hours before each hair coloring application, even if you have used hair colorants previously, to check for any new sensitivities.

Can this product cover grey hair?

Yes, Wella Koleston Perfect Me+ Vibrant Reds 66/55 offers up to 100% grey coverage.

What is the mixing ratio?

The mixing ratio is a simple 1:1. Mix 1 part Koleston Perfect Me+ color cream with 1 part Wella developer.

How long does the color last?

Koleston Perfect Me+ is a permanent hair color, meaning the color is long-lasting. However, longevity can vary based on hair type, care routine, and environmental factors.

Can I use this product on all hair types?

Yes, this product is suitable for all hair types and is designed for unisex use.

What is the "Vibrant Reds 66/55" shade?

This refers to a specific auburn shade within the Wella Koleston Perfect Me+ line, known for its intense red tones.

How much lift can I expect?

Depending on the specific color and hair type, Koleston Perfect Me+ can provide up to 3 or up to 5 levels of lift.

Troubleshooting

Uneven color application

Ensure hair is properly sectioned, thoroughly saturated with color, and that the mixing ratio was precise. Consider a professional consultation if issues persist.

Color not as expected

Hair's porosity, previous color history, and processing time can affect the final shade. Always perform a strand test for unpredictable results. Ensure the correct developer strength was used.

Scalp irritation during or after application

Immediately rinse the product from the hair. If irritation is severe, seek medical attention. Ensure the allergy alert test was performed correctly 48 hours prior.

Color fades quickly

Use color-safe hair care products and avoid excessive washing or heat styling. Ensure the hair was properly rinsed after coloring.

  1. Allergy Alert Test: Crucially, perform an allergy alert test 48 hours before each application, even if you have used hair colorants before. Mix a small amount of the colorant and developer, apply to a patch of skin behind the ear or on the inner elbow, leave for the recommended time, and rinse. Monitor for any adverse reactions.
