Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Tefal Everyday Induction Hob is straightforward, and maintaining it is simple.
Setup
- Placement: Place the hob on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there's adequate ventilation around the unit. The ultra-slim 45mm design allows it to fit easily on most countertops.
- Power Connection: Plug the hob into a standard electrical outlet. Make sure the outlet meets the power requirements specified in your product manual.
- Initial Use: Before first use, wipe the ceramic plate with a damp cloth. Some new appliances may emit a slight odor during the very first use; this is normal and will dissipate.
Cookware Compatibility
This induction hob requires induction-compatible cookware. Look for pots and pans with a magnetic base. You can test your existing cookware by holding a magnet to the bottom; if it sticks firmly, it's induction-compatible.
- Compatible: Cast iron, magnetic stainless steel, enamel-on-steel, and cookware specifically marked "induction compatible."
- Incompatible: Glass, ceramic, aluminum, copper, or non-magnetic stainless steel cookware will not work on this hob.
The automatic cookware detection feature will prevent the hob from heating if an incompatible pot is used, often displaying an error code like `E0` or similar.
Care and Maintenance
The durable black ceramic plate is designed for easy cleaning and long-lasting performance.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, allow the hob to cool completely. Wipe the ceramic surface with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent if necessary. Dry thoroughly.
- Stubborn Stains: For burnt-on food or stubborn marks, use a specialized ceramic hob cleaner, following the product instructions. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemicals that could scratch the surface.
- Preventing Scratches: Always lift cookware off the hob; avoid dragging it across the surface. While scratch-resistant, excessive force can still cause damage.
- Ventilation: Keep the ventilation inlets and outlets clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Storage: Thanks to its slim and portable design, the hob can be easily stored vertically or horizontally when not in use, further saving space.
