1. Ensure Power is Off: Always disconnect the lamp base from the power outlet before handling.
2. Remove Old Shade (if applicable): Carefully remove any existing lamp shade.
3. Secure the Shade: Most drum shades attach to the lamp base via a harp and finial system, or directly to the bulb socket with a spider fitter.

• Harp & Finial: Place the shade's spider fitter onto the harp, then screw the finial onto the top of the harp to secure the shade.
• Socket Ring: If it has a socket ring fitting, unscrew the ring from the lamp socket, place the shade's fitter over the socket, and then screw the ring back on tightly to hold the shade in place.
