Full details
The Saucony Ride TR2 trainers are designed for adult males seeking a versatile running shoe that transitions seamlessly from road to trail. Its key benefit is offering the renowned comfort and foam innovation of the iconic Ride franchise with a more robust construction for diverse terrain. A potential caveat is that while versatile, dedicated trail runners might prefer shoes with more aggressive lug patterns.

FAQs
What type of runner is the Saucony Ride TR2 best suited for?
The Ride TR2 is ideal for neutral runners who want a shoe that performs well on both roads and light trails. It's great for daily training and those who encounter mixed terrain during their runs.
Can I use these for serious trail running?
While they can handle light trails, they are not designed for highly technical or muddy terrain. For such conditions, a shoe with more aggressive lugs and protection would be recommended.
How does the cushioning compare to the standard Saucony Ride?
The Ride TR2 uses the same foam innovation and comfort as the iconic Ride franchise, offering a familiar and cushioned feel.
Are these shoes waterproof?
No, the Ride TR2 is not a waterproof shoe. They are designed for breathability and quick drying.
What sizes are available?
The Saucony Ride TR2 is available in various adult men's sizes, including the UK 11.5 featured in this guide.
How should I clean mud off the shoes?
Use a soft brush or a damp cloth to wipe away mud. Allow the shoes to air dry completely away from direct heat.
Troubleshooting
Uneven wear on the outsole.
This can be normal with mixed-terrain use. Ensure you are using the correct shoe for the surface; very aggressive trails may wear down the tread faster than expected.
Discomfort or rubbing.
Verify the shoe size is correct and laces are tied appropriately without being too tight. Consider using different socks or adjusting the lacing pattern.
Reduced grip on wet surfaces.
While designed for versatility, optimal grip on very wet or slippery surfaces may be limited. Clean the outsole regularly to ensure debris does not impede traction.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent versatility for running on both roads and light trails.
- Comfortable cushioning inherited from the well-regarded Saucony Ride series.
- Durable construction suitable for varied outdoor conditions.
- A good option for neutral runners looking for a do-it-all shoe.
Cons
- May lack aggressive traction for very technical or muddy trails.
- The robust design might feel slightly heavier than a pure road shoe.
- Not suitable for runners needing significant stability or pronation support.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These are ready to wear straight out of the box. Ensure you have the correct size for optimal comfort and performance. The Men's UK 11.5 size is specifically detailed for this variant.
Compatibility: Designed for adult male runners with a neutral gait. Suitable for road running, light trail running, and mixed-terrain workouts.
Care:
- Cleaning: After runs, use a soft brush or damp cloth to remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: If the shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper or a dry cloth to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or fires, as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
