Product Information

Full details

The Sloomy Devonshire Plush Divan Set in King size and Brown is designed for individuals seeking a stable and supportive mattress foundation with a touch of elegance for their bedroom. Its key benefit is the platform-top construction offering even support and a clean aesthetic, complemented by a handcrafted UK frame for durability. A caveat to consider is that the mattress is single-sided, requiring a non-slip base and is best suited for occasional use or spare rooms due to its open-coil spring system.

FAQs

What is the main advantage of the platform-top construction?

The platform-top construction offers a consistent, even surface for your mattress, preventing sagging and providing uniform support. It also contributes to a sleek, modern look for the bed.

Is the mattress firm or soft?

The mattress is rated as medium comfort, offering a balance of support and pressure relief suitable for a wide range of sleepers.

Can I flip the mattress?

No, this is a single-sided mattress. You can rotate it head-to-foot, but it is not designed to be flipped over.

What fabric options are available for the divan set?

The Devonshire set can be upholstered in Sloomy's Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, and Dumfries fabrics, available in various colours.

How do I clean the fabric upholstery?

For general cleaning, use a clean, dry cloth. For tougher stains, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure the fabric is allowed to air dry completely afterward. Avoid harsh chemicals.

What is the guarantee period?

The mattress comes with a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Are there handles on the mattress?

No, this mattress does not feature handles, which is common for single-sided models. Rotation should be done carefully.

Troubleshooting

Bed base makes squeaking noises

Ensure all fixings and bolts connecting the base sections and headboard are fully tightened. Check that the bed is on a level surface.

Mattress feels uneven

Rotate the mattress head to foot. Ensure the mattress is correctly positioned on the platform top and that no debris is trapped beneath it.

Headboard is wobbly

Verify that the headboard is securely attached to the divan base using the provided hardware. Ensure the floor where the headboard stands is level.

Chrome gliders are loose

Tighten the gliders into their designated sockets on the base. If damaged, contact customer support for replacements.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides stable and even mattress support with the platform-top design.
  • Features an elegant and substantial 54" floor-standing headboard.
  • Handcrafted in the UK, indicating quality construction and durability.
  • Offers a choice of premium fabrics for aesthetic customization.
  • The mattress provides a balanced medium comfort level.

Cons

  • The mattress is single-sided, meaning it cannot be flipped, only rotated.
  • Best suited for spare rooms or occasional use; may not offer optimal long-term support for heavy daily use compared to higher-end systems.
  • Open-coil spring systems can sometimes be less independent in motion transfer compared to pocket springs.
  • The description does not specify the weight limit for the bed frame.
  • No handles are included on the mattress for easier rotation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Assemble the divan base according to the provided instructions. Ensure all fixings are secure.
  2. Attach the headboard to the divan base. The 54" headboard is floor-standing, providing additional stability.
  3. Place the mattress onto the platform top. Ensure the non-slip base is facing upwards.
  4. Position the divan set in your desired location. Utilize the chrome gliders to move the bed carefully, protecting your floors.

Compatibility:

  • The mattress is specifically designed for the included platform-top base. Using it on a different type of base (e.g., sprung slats) may affect comfort and support, and could void the warranty.
  • The King size mattress dimensions are compatible with the King size divan base.

Care:

  • Mattress: As the mattress is single-sided, it only needs to be rotated (head to foot) regularly to ensure even wear. Do not flip it. Use a soft, damp cloth for spot cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive moisture.
  • Base & Headboard: Wipe the fabric with a clean, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry completely. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Gliders: Periodically check that the chrome gliders are clean and securely attached.
