Product Information
Full details
The Shires Eggbutt Snaffle Bit features a French link that applies pressure to both sides of the tongue, making it suitable for horses that dislike a nutcracker action and providing more tongue room. The Eggbutt design minimizes pinching at the edges of the horse's mouth, unlike a loose ring snaffle, and offers a more stable action for horses that are uncertain of the bit. Constructed from durable, easy-to-clean, tasteless, and rust-resistant stainless steel. If you're looking for an Eggbutt snaffle without the French link, consider the Shires Flat Ring Jointed Eggbutt Snaffle Bit. Available in widths: 4.5", 5.0", 5.5" or 6.0". Mouthpiece thickness: 14 mm. Cheek height: 55 mm (for 4.5" width) or 75 mm (for 5.0", 5.5" and 6.0" width). The French link in this bit means pressure is applied to both sides of the tongue. Some horses with low palates may find this bit more comfortable as the mouthpiece should not contact the palate when the bit is in action. The smaller sizes of this bit come with smaller rings to ensure the bit remains in proportion.
