Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack the Norton Handy Roll and locate the included dispenser unit.
- Insert the roll into the dispenser, ensuring it can unroll freely.
- Pull out the desired length of abrasive material.
- Use the dispenser's cutting edge to cleanly sever the abrasive strip.
Compatibility:
This handy roll is designed for manual use on a wide range of materials, primarily metals. It is compatible with various common workshop tasks including deburring, rust removal, and general finishing. While primarily for metal, it can also be used on harder plastics or wood for light finishing where its grit is appropriate.
Care:
- Store the roll in its dispenser in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage to the abrasive and backing.
- Avoid exposing the abrasive surface to excessive oils or solvents, as this can clog the grit and reduce effectiveness.
- Periodically inspect the abrasive surface for wear or clogging. If performance degrades, cut a fresh section of the roll.
- Keep the dispenser clean to ensure the cutting edge remains sharp and safe.
