Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Due to its solid wood construction, this shelf requires secure mounting. It is recommended to mount the shelf directly into wall studs or use appropriate heavy-duty wall anchors suitable for your wall type (e.g., drywall, plaster, brick).
- Identify desired mounting location and check for wall studs using a stud finder.
- Determine the appropriate mounting bracket system (often provided or recommended separately based on shelf design).
- Mark pilot hole locations on the wall, ensuring they are level.
- Drill pilot holes and secure the mounting brackets to the wall.
- Carefully slide the floating shelf onto the installed brackets, ensuring a snug and secure fit.
Compatibility:
This shelf is designed for interior use. It is compatible with most standard wall types when proper mounting hardware is used. The handmade nature means each shelf has unique dimensions and characteristics.
Care:
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
- For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and wipe dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Protect from excessive moisture and direct sunlight, which can affect the wood over time.
