Howard Feed-N-Wax is best suited for finished wood surfaces such as furniture, antiques, and cabinets. It works well on wood with oil, lacquer, varnish, or shellac finishes. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.

It is not recommended for unfinished or raw wood as it may be absorbed unevenly or alter the color significantly. Always test on a hidden spot first if you intend to use it on such surfaces.

Reapplication frequency depends on the wood's condition and environment. Typically, reapply every 3 to 6 months, or whenever the wood starts to look dry or dull.

Feed-N-Wax is designed to condition and protect wood, not to fill or remove scratches. While it can make minor surface blemishes less noticeable by improving the overall finish, it will not repair deep scratches.

If applied correctly and buffed off thoroughly, Feed-N-Wax should leave a protective luster, not a sticky or greasy residue. Excess product that is not buffed away can cause a waxy buildup.

The product contains orange oil, which gives it a noticeable citrus scent during application. This scent typically dissipates once the product has dried and buffed.

Once the product has been applied and buffed dry, it is generally considered safe for normal use. However, keep the product itself out of reach of children and pets during application and storage.

Too much product was applied, or it was not buffed off sufficiently. Apply a small amount of mineral spirits to a clean cloth and wipe the affected area. Then, buff with a clean, dry cloth.

The product may darken lighter woods. Buff vigorously with a clean, dry cloth to remove excess. If the darkening is significant, consider reapplying a lighter-duty wood polish or using a minimal amount of Feed-N-Wax in the future.

The wood may be extremely dry and require a second application. Ensure all excess from the first application was removed, then apply a thin second coat, allowing it to penetrate and buffing off thoroughly.

The wood surface may be too dry or have an incompatible finish. Ensure the cloth is slightly damp (not wet) with the product, and try applying in smaller sections. If the finish is problematic, consult the furniture manufacturer's recommendations.
