- Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is clean, level, and dry. Repair any imperfections.
- Apply Thin-Set Mortar: Spread a layer of thin-set mortar suitable for the subfloor material.
- Install Membrane: Lay the Thermopanel Decoupling Membrane onto the mortar, ensuring it is flat and secure. Use a roller to ensure a good bond.
- Install Heating Cables: Place the electric under-tile heating cables into the studs of the membrane.
- Apply Mortar: Cover the membrane and heating cables with a layer of thin-set mortar suitable for your tile.
- Tile Installation: Install your tiles, ensuring they are properly adhered to the mortar.
Compatibility
The membrane is compatible with electric under-tile heating cables with a diameter of 3.6mm to 4.2mm. It is suitable for use with a variety of tile types. Ensure you use appropriate thin-set mortar compatible with both the membrane and your chosen tiles.
Care
Once installed, the membrane requires minimal maintenance. Avoid using sharp objects that could puncture the membrane. Regular cleaning of the tiled surface should be done with appropriate cleaning agents for your tile type. Inspect the tiled surface periodically for any signs of damage.
