Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Rinse the aquarium, gravel, and plastic tree thoroughly with clean water. Avoid using soap or detergents.
- Place the colored gravel at the bottom of the tank.
- Position the plastic tree decoration.
- Add dechlorinated water to the aquarium.
- Install a suitable small filter and heater (sold separately) according to their respective instructions.
- Allow the aquarium to cycle for several days before introducing fish.
Compatibility:
This aquarium is best suited for small, peaceful fish species that do not require large swimming spaces. Examples include guppies, endlers, neon tetras, or shrimp. It is not suitable for goldfish or larger species. Ensure any filtration or heating equipment purchased is appropriately sized for this tank volume.
Care:
- Perform partial water changes (20-30%) weekly using a gravel vacuum.
- Clean the inside of the tank with a soft, damp cloth or aquarium sponge as needed. Never use household cleaners.
- Clean filter media according to the filter manufacturer's instructions, usually rinsing in removed tank water.
- Wipe down the exterior of the tank and lid with a damp cloth.
- Monitor water parameters regularly (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temperature).
