Setup, Compatibility & Care
To establish your Coral Bark Maple, start by selecting a location with partial shade, ideally sheltered from strong, drying winds. When planting, dig a hole twice the width of the current 10cm pot and ensure the soil is rich, slightly acidic, and well-draining. Water thoroughly immediately after planting and maintain consistent soil moisture during the first year of growth. For container-grown specimens, use a large pot with adequate drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Pruning should be kept to a minimum, primarily focusing on removing dead or crossing branches during the dormant winter period to maintain its natural, graceful shape.
