Deep Blue Pro Calcium Hardness Plus is essential for maintaining optimal spa water balance. If the calcium hardness of your spa water falls below 100mg/l, this product should be used to increase it. Calcium hardness, also known as total hardness, measures the water's softness or hardness, which is determined by the amount of dissolved mineral salts, primarily calcium. Water hardness can vary based on your water supply source. Low hardness levels can lead to corrosive water, etching of surfaces, and foam. Conversely, high hardness levels can cause scale formation, filter calcification, cloudy water, and staining. The ideal range for calcium hardness is between 100mg/l and 200mg/l. For every 1,000 litres of water, 15g of Hardness Plus will increase the hardness by 10mg/l, 38g by 25mg/l, and 76g by 50mg/l. If your calcium hardness exceeds 200mg/l, Deep Blue Pro ScaleAway should be used to prevent scale deposits in the filter, heater, pipework, and on spa surfaces.
