The Goetze Piston Rings Kit (08-138400-00) is a high-precision replacement set designed for automotive technicians and DIY mechanics performing single-cylinder engine maintenance. Engineered to meet strict tolerance standards, this kit provides an essential seal for optimal combustion efficiency in compatible FIAT, FORD, CHRYSLER, and LANCIA engines. While the components offer professional-grade durability, users must ensure the 70.8 mm bore size precisely matches their engine specifications to prevent mechanical failure during operation.

No. It is only compatible with models requiring a 70.8 mm bore. Always check your engine code against the manufacturer's parts catalog.
This kit is designed for a single cylinder. You will need to purchase one kit per cylinder.
No. These are standard-size rings and will not provide the correct seal in an oversized or worn-out cylinder.
You will need a piston ring expander, a ring compressor, and a torque wrench for the connecting rod bolts.
Yes, a break-in period is essential to allow the rings to seat properly against the cylinder walls for maximum performance.
Ensure you are using a properly adjusted piston ring compressor and that the ring gaps are staggered according to your service manual.
Verify the rings were installed with the correct side facing up and check that the cylinder was properly deglazed/honed before installation.
Before installation, thoroughly clean the piston grooves and the cylinder wall. Always verify that your cylinder bore is exactly 70.8 mm; even slight variations can result in improper seating. Use a high-quality ring compressor tool to slide the piston into the block to avoid snapping or bending the rings. Once installed, it is highly recommended to follow the engine manufacturer's specific break-in procedure, which usually involves varying the engine load during the first few hundred miles of operation. Store unused rings in a clean, dry, and dust-free environment to prevent oxidation.
