No, the NGK 49073 is an ignition coil only. It is recommended to inspect or replace spark plugs when changing ignition coils.
While not strictly required, it is often recommended to replace all coils if they have similar mileage to ensure balanced engine performance.
Many automotive retailers offer recycling programs for electronic car parts. Check with your local auto parts store.
Ensure the 3-pin connector is fully seated and clicked into place; also inspect the spark plug for fouling.
Use an OBD-II scanner to clear the stored fault codes after installation; if codes persist, check the wiring harness for damage.
To install, ensure the engine is completely cool to avoid thermal burns. Locate the ignition coil pack atop the cylinder head cover. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness by depressing the locking tab, remove the retaining bolt, and pull the old coil out. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new NGK 49073 coil to ensure a moisture-proof seal. Press the new coil into place, tighten the retaining bolt to the manufacturer's specified torque, and reconnect the 3-pin electrical harness. Compatibility is limited to specific Honda engines; always cross-reference the OEM part numbers 30520RB0003, 30520RB0013, or 30520RB0S01 before purchasing.
