Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the Green Bird Netting is straightforward, designed for ease of use by gardeners of all levels.
Setup Instructions:
- Measure and Cut: If purchasing 'per metre', the netting comes as one continuous piece. Measure the area you wish to cover and cut to size, allowing extra for draping and growth.
- Direct Application: For ground-level crops like strawberries or vegetables, carefully lay the netting directly over the plants. Ensure there is enough slack to accommodate plant growth throughout the season. Secure the edges with soil, stones, or pegs if necessary.
- Hoops and Cages: For taller plants or to create a more structured enclosure, drape the netting over garden cloche hoops or existing garden cages. Secure the netting to the frame or structure to prevent birds from finding entry points.
Compatibility:
- This netting is suitable for use over a wide range of garden crops, including fruits (berries, cherries, apples) and vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, brassicas).
- It is compatible with standard garden hoops, cloches, and fruit cage structures.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: After the growing season, remove the netting and gently clean off any soil or debris. A light brushing or rinsing with water is usually sufficient.
- Storage: Store the netting in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and sharp objects, to prolong its lifespan. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Maintenance: Check for any damage or tears before storing and repair them to maintain effectiveness for the next season.
