The McAlpine Flexible Connector (FLEXCON8) is an ideal solution for professional plumbers and DIY enthusiasts needing to bridge misaligned waste pipe connections. Its primary benefit is providing a flexible, leak-proof joint that accommodates slight offsets in plumbing systems without the need for rigid fittings. While highly versatile, users should note that it is designed specifically for 2-inch pipe systems and should not be used in high-pressure water supply lines.

Yes, it is designed to handle standard temperatures associated with domestic waste-water, such as those from sinks and showers.
No, this is intended for 2-inch waste pipe systems and is not suitable for 4-inch soil pipe toilet connections.
Generally, no tools are required as the compression nut is designed to be tightened by hand.
It is designed to compensate for minor misalignments. For significant deviations, traditional rigid fittings or repositioning of the pipework is recommended.
It is designed primarily for standard plastic waste pipe systems. Using it with metal pipes may not provide a secure, watertight seal.
Ensure the washer is seated correctly and the compression nut is tightened securely; do not overtighten as it may crack the plastic.
Check for burrs on the end of the pipe or ensure the pipe diameter is exactly 2 inches; apply a light lubricant if necessary.
To install, ensure the 2-inch pipe ends are cut square and free of burrs or jagged edges. Slide the compression nut and washer onto the pipe, insert the connector spigot, and tighten the nut firmly by hand to create the compression seal. It is recommended to use a small amount of silicone lubricant on the washers to aid in tightening and to ensure an airtight seal. For maintenance, periodically inspect the connector for signs of brittleness or leaks, especially if the pipe system experiences high heat fluctuations. Keep the connector away from harsh chemical solvents that could degrade the plastic composition.
