Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The Merrell Moab 3 Synthetic GORE-TEX® - Tan requires no assembly. Upon receiving your boots, it is recommended to try them on with the type of socks you typically hike in to ensure a proper fit. Adjust the laces for a secure yet comfortable feel.
Compatibility: These hiking boots are designed for use on a variety of outdoor terrains, including trails, gravel paths, and moderate off-road conditions. They are compatible with standard hiking socks.
Care: To maintain the performance and longevity of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, brush off loose dirt. For tougher dirt, use a damp cloth or a soft brush with cool water. Avoid using harsh detergents or solvents, which can damage the materials and the GORE-TEX membrane.
- Drying: If the boots become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or fires, as this can degrade the materials and adhesives. Remove insoles and loosen laces to speed up drying.
- Waterproofing: The GORE-TEX membrane is inherently waterproof. Periodically, you may consider using a specialized water-repellent spray suitable for synthetic leather and GORE-TEX footwear to maintain the upper's water resistance, though this is not typically required for the membrane itself.
