Product Information

Full details

This HOMCOM Storage Ottoman in Grey is designed for individuals seeking a stylish and functional furniture piece that combines seating, footrest, and discreet storage. Its primary benefit is offering a generous 53.8-litre capacity within a compact and aesthetically pleasing design, perfect for decluttering living rooms, bedrooms, or entryways. A potential caveat is that its primary function is storage and seating, not a primary bed or sofa replacement. Key features include breathable linen upholstery, high-density foam padding, integrated armrests, a lift-top lid with hinges, and sturdy rubberwood legs supporting up to 120 kg.

Troubleshooting

Ottoman is wobbly after assembly

Ensure all legs are securely tightened. Check if the floor surface is even. If wobble persists, verify leg attachment points and tighten screws evenly.

Lid does not close smoothly

Check for any items inside obstructing the closure. Ensure the hinges are correctly aligned and free of debris. Adjust hinge screws if necessary.

Fabric appears creased or wrinkled

Gently steam the fabric from a distance using a garment steamer or iron on a low setting with a protective cloth. Avoid direct high heat.

Interior smells musty

Empty the storage compartment completely. Air it out in a well-ventilated area for several hours. Consider placing a sachet of baking soda inside to absorb odors.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides significant hidden storage to help organize living spaces.
  • Dual functionality as both a comfortable seat and a storage solution.
  • The breathable linen fabric offers a premium look and feel.
  • Sturdy construction with rubberwood legs ensures durability and safety.
  • The lift-top design with hinges allows for easy access to contents.

Cons

  • Primarily designed for accent seating and storage, not as a primary sofa or bed.
  • Assembly may require careful attention to instructions.
  • The grey color may not match all interior design schemes.
  • Linen fabric can be susceptible to staining and requires careful cleaning.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The ottoman typically requires assembly of the legs. Ensure all parts are present before starting. Use the provided instructions and tools to attach the rubberwood legs securely to the base of the ottoman. Tighten all connections firmly but avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the wood.

Compatibility: This storage ottoman is designed for indoor use and complements various decor styles, particularly those aiming for a modern, minimalist, or transitional aesthetic. Its grey color makes it versatile for placement in living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, or hallways.

Care: To maintain the appearance and longevity of the ottoman:

  • Upholstery: For the linen fabric, spot clean with a mild detergent and a damp cloth. Avoid saturating the fabric. For deeper cleaning, consider professional upholstery cleaning.
  • Frame: Wipe the frame and legs with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Ensure it is dried immediately.
  • Storage: Regularly empty and air out the storage compartment to prevent moisture buildup or odors.
