Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your MAM Original Soother is straightforward, focusing mainly on proper hygiene.
Setup
- Initial Sterilization: Before first use, and periodically thereafter, sterilize the soothers. Place them in boiling water for 5 minutes. This ensures optimal hygiene.
- Cool Down: Allow the soothers to cool down completely and squeeze out any remaining water from the teat.
Compatibility
- Sterilizers: These soothers are compatible with all standard sterilization methods: boiling water, steam sterilizers (electric or microwave), and cold water sterilization solutions.
- Soother Clips: The ring on the soother shield is designed to be compatible with most standard soother clips, allowing you to keep it secure and within reach.
Care & Maintenance
- Daily Cleaning: Clean the soother thoroughly before each use, especially if it falls on the floor. Wash with warm water and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly.
- Sterilization Frequency: Sterilize daily for babies under 6 months. For babies 6+ months, sterilize regularly, especially if your baby has been unwell or if the soother has been exposed to unhygienic environments.
- Inspection: Always inspect the soother carefully before each use. Pull the teat in all directions to check for any tears, sticky spots, or weakness. Discard and replace immediately at the first sign of damage or wear, or every 1-2 months for hygiene and safety reasons.
- Storage: Store soothers in a dry, covered container when not in use. Avoid direct sunlight or heat, as this can weaken the material.
