Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, ensure the heating system is depressurized and cool. The vent must be installed in an upright, vertical position; if installed at an angle, the internal float will not move freely, rendering the unit ineffective.
- Ensure the mounting port is clean of debris.
- Place the included O-ring onto the thread.
- Tighten the vent into the system port by hand or with a wrench, being careful not to overtighten and damage the housing.
- Periodically inspect the cap for signs of salt buildup or leakage, which may indicate that the internal float is stuck due to system impurities. If the vent is old, simply replacing the insert can restore full functionality.
