Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Choose Location: Select a suitable mounting surface on your boat, ensuring it is strong enough to bear the intended load.
- Mark Holes: Position the eye strap and mark the centers of the two mounting holes.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes appropriate for your chosen mounting hardware (e.g., stainless steel screws or bolts with nuts and washers).
- Secure Strap: Fasten the eye strap firmly to the surface using the selected hardware. Ensure it is tightly secured to prevent movement.
Compatibility:
The eye straps are compatible with most standard marine ropes and lines up to approximately 12mm in diameter. They are designed to be mounted on solid surfaces such as fiberglass, wood, or metal.
Care:
- Rinse After Use: After exposure to saltwater, rinse the straps with fresh water to remove salt residue.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the straps and mounting points for any signs of wear, corrosion, or loosening.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the intended load capacity. These are designed for securing lines and fenders, not for heavy towing or lifting.
