Product Information

Full details

The Solace+Co Nela Ottoman Bed is designed for homeowners looking to maximize bedroom space without sacrificing comfort or style. Its primary benefit is a generous, easy-access under-bed storage compartment, ideal for keeping seasonal bedding and linens organized; however, the heavy lift mechanism means it is best suited for users who can comfortably manage a weighted mattress during operation.

FAQs

Does the mattress come included?

No, the Solace+Co Nela Ottoman Bed frame is sold separately from the mattress.

What type of mattress is best for this bed?

This frame is compatible with any standard double mattress. A medium-to-firm mattress generally works best for the lift mechanism.

How heavy can the items be inside the storage compartment?

The storage area is designed for household items like bedding, pillows, and clothing. Avoid storing heavy machinery or excessively dense items.

Is assembly difficult for one person?

We strongly recommend two people for assembly, particularly when attaching the headboard and the gas-lift mechanism for safety and ease of alignment.

How do I clean the fabric?

Use a soft brush or vacuum with an upholstery attachment. For spots, use a mild fabric-safe cleaner and blot—do not rub—the area.

Can I use this bed with an adjustable mattress?

No, this frame is designed for standard, non-adjustable mattresses to maintain the integrity of the lift mechanism.

Troubleshooting

The ottoman base will not stay in the open position.

The mattress weight is required to engage the gas struts. If the bed is empty, the base will not stay open. Ensure your mattress is properly installed.

The bed frame feels unstable or squeaky.

Check that all corner brackets and bolts are fully tightened. Ensure the bed is placed on a completely flat, level floor surface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Maximizes limited floor space with integrated storage
  • Stylish woven fabric upholstery complements modern decor
  • Gas-lift system simplifies access to stored items
  • Padded headboard enhances overall comfort

Cons

  • Requires a mattress to be placed on the frame to operate smoothly
  • Assembly is time-consuming and recommended for two people
  • The lift mechanism can be heavy to operate for some users

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To assemble the bed, ensure you have a clear floor space and a second person to help align the side rails. Follow the provided manual specifically for attaching the gas struts, as these must be installed in the correct orientation to function safely. This frame is compatible with most standard UK double mattresses. To care for your Nela Ottoman Bed, vacuum the woven fabric upholstery periodically with an upholstery attachment to prevent dust buildup. If a spill occurs, blot with a clean, dry cloth immediately; avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the textile. Check the frame bolts every six months to ensure they remain tightened, as the weight of a mattress can loosen hardware over time.
