Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure peak performance, follow these guidelines during installation:
- Planning: Measure your runs accurately, accounting for cable length lost to corners and vertical drops.
- Pulling: Avoid excessive tension when pulling the cable through conduits to prevent stretching the internal copper wires.
- Termination: Always use industry-standard RJ45 crimping tools. Ensure the wire pairs are untwisted only as much as necessary to fit into the connector to maintain performance standards.
- Bending Radius: Keep bends smooth and wide; sharp 90-degree angles can damage the internal structure of the cable over time.
- Outdoor Care: If installed outdoors, ensure proper weatherproofing of connectors and keep the cable away from direct, standing water or UV exposure where possible to maximize its lifespan.
