Yes, it functions perfectly as a standard mechanical bite indicator without power, but the illumination feature will not activate.
The Swinger is designed primarily for Fox Micron alarms. While it may fit other systems, compatibility with the illumination feature is not guaranteed unless the alarm has an industry-standard power-out socket.
The slot allows you to insert an isotope (Betalight) so the indicator remains visible throughout the night even without the active electrical illumination.
The color is determined by the specific model variant (Blue, Purple, Orange, Green, or Red). You cannot change the color of a single unit once purchased.
The unit uses a fixed line gate system designed to hold the line securely until a strike occurs, ensuring a consistent release.
