Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Follow the specific dosage instructions for each product (API Stress Coat Water Conditioner, API Quick Start, API Stress Zyme, API Aquarium Salt) as provided on their respective labels or the kit's instructions. Generally, Stress Coat and Quick Start are added to the new aquarium water during setup. Stress Zyme is typically added weekly. Aquarium Salt is added directly to the water, ensuring it dissolves completely.
Compatibility: This kit is designed for freshwater aquariums. Always ensure the products are suitable for the specific fish species you intend to keep. Do not use API Aquarium Salt in planted aquariums or with certain freshwater invertebrates unless specifically recommended for that species.
Care: Regularly test your aquarium water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH) using a test kit. Perform partial water changes (typically 20-25%) weekly or bi-weekly, using Stress Coat to condition the new water. Clean substrate and algae as needed. Observe fish for any signs of stress or illness. Stress Zyme should be added regularly to maintain a healthy bacterial colony.
